Position: Contract Pelvic Health Physical Therapist (Part-Time)
Location: 3000 Connecticut Avenue NW, Woodley Park
Hours: ~10–20 hours/week (flexible schedule)
Contract Type: Independent Contractor / 1099


Responsibilities

  • Perform thorough evaluations of patients with pelvic floor dysfunction (urinary/fecal incontinence, pelvic pain, dyspareunia, prolapse, prenatal/postpartum conditions).
  • Provide internal and external assessments as needed, develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Use manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, biofeedback, pelvic floor muscle retraining, bladder/bowel retraining.
  • Educate patients re: anatomy, lifestyle changes, toileting, posture, breathing, and movement strategies.
  • Maintain communication with referring providers; ensure seamless care.
  • Document treatments & progress accurately, maintain patient records in EMR (Simple Practice).
  • Maintain clinic cleanliness and safety, manage supplies related to your part of practice.
  • Conduct telehealth follow-ups as needed.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or equivalent, with valid DC PT license.
  • Post-graduate training / specialization in pelvic health courses such as Herman & Wallace or APTA.
  • Comfortable with internal assessments for patients male and female assigned at birth.
  • Prior experience (minimum 1-2 years) in pelvic health (or strong academic/clinical training).
  • Comfortable treating all genders.
  • Sensitivity to trauma, sexual health, and associated psychosocial factors.
  • Good communication skills, empathy and ability to work with sensitive issues.
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule.

Compensation & Terms

  • Hourly or per-session commission, based on experience, licensure, certifications.
  • Contractor to supply own liability insurance 
  • Flexibility in scheduling; expectation of covering certain key clinic hours.
